The conference emphasized on speed and cost performance and was held by an AWS Germany member and a significant customer also from Germany. If you want premium speed for better price, use your CloudFront for the not cacheable content too, it will go through the private infrastructure of AWS instead of going through the internet. If you use Dynamodb, you can get a caching tool that requires no code change called DAX. This way you could get even faster delivery than with Dynamodb, and if you are an RDS DB user, you can sync a Cloud cache via lambda functions. Just remember to cache everything, you can use API Gateway as a web layer cache service, even if your service is not an API. Also, monitor everything and target the most difficult items first; if you use negative caching and you cache a no result, you still cache a critical information. Memory is cheaper than CPU by caching, so you’re paying less for your infrastructure. AWS releases 1300 new services or features per year, or more than 3 per day, continuing to out-innovate and out-execute its competitors. Make sure you don’t miss the next show at the end of November, re:Invent 2018, to keep up with the innovations!
